Ugly newspaper boxes

In a town that prides itself on its beauty, where no artistic signage is allowed (such as neon, or sandwich boards larger than a thimble), why are these butt ugly monstrosities allowed to exist? In a day where most folks receive their news electronically anyway, could we not replace these with quaint, attractive paper boxes as some cities have done?

Ugly newspaper box

Yuck! Dirty and unmaintained paper box. Belongs in Medford maybe, not here.

N's Birthday Party 2005

Escaped from Bellview long enough to get to this great party. Hope she has another wild one this year!

My Doo-Wop Life

The Whitetones were my longest-running vocal group, mid 1970's to mid 1980's basically. Previously I'd sang with the Neptones aka Lincoln Chandler and the Lost Knights. Neither of these groups released any records. I did record a song in 1966 with the Soul Stoppers; "Let's Sit Down". Only 500 copies were pressed and it now sells for hundreds of dollars when one shows up on E-bay.

More recently I've spent three years in the studio recording my first and likely last CD, "Lenny Tone". It's not  doo-wop music, though. It's more kind of punky pop rock.
